TYPE Return Size of Type MASM Operator

TYPE expression

Returns the number of bytes for a variable, while returning 0FFFFh for
a NEAR label and 0FFFEh for a FAR label.

Notes: The values returned are the same values that are
displayed in the description for the PTR operator. Note
that the number of bytes returned is the number of bytes
occupied by the type of expression. Therefore, a word
variable will always return 2, even if it is duplicated
10 times.
